Initial accuracy being the main reason. If you are an accurate S.O.B. instead of a spray and prayer (which I am) you can lay down enemies real quick without having to reload as often (because reloads are a beyotch).

The best heavy advice I can give is KEEP MOVING. Just because you have a big health pool doesn't mean it doesn't gett whittled down fast by good players.
